This past Sunday was another special day for us. Machaila had her first Irish Dancing Recital. By now you most likely know that my daughter Machaila is a dancer. She dances ballet, jazz and tap and has done so since she was the tiny age of 3. She is not a stranger to recitals and performing in front of an audience and with her confidence, you might actually think that she was born on stage. But this past weekend was special as it was her first recital for Irish Dance. She joined the Miller School of Irish Dance this past summer and absolutely loves it! Preparations for this recital has been going on for the past few months and the show was amazing. A truly fantastic “Celebration of Talent.” Maureen Miller, dance instructor and founder of Miller School of Irish Dance, worked so hard with the girls and did an amazing job organizing and putting together the event. She had asked if parents and family could bring some refreshments for the intermission of the show so you know what that meant for me – a reason to create, design, plan, coordinate, print, and style. Here is what I came up with. Hope you all enjoy!
Inspiration for all of the printables that I designed came from the schools’ official dancing dress.
I just love the colours of the school dress!
I recreated the pattern on the front of the dress as one of the designs on the printable party circles.
I also enlisted the talents of Irene from Irene’s Bake Shop to make her signature sugar cookies. Using my design, she made these stunning fondant sugar cookies which coordinated with the my printables perfectly.
Here are the babies of the group! So adorable!
And here they all are together.
The music and the dancing were fantastic. Our whole family had a great time. To Maureen and the all of the dancers – you did a fantastic job. Amazing work girls and congratulations on all of your achievements!!!
